Douglas Ross ‘Doug’ Elliott, 61, of Live Oak, FL passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 from a short illness. He was born September 12, 1950 to James Robert ‘Jim’ and Elizabeth Elliott in Perry, Iowa. Mr. Elliott and his family moved to Live Oak in 1977 from Woodward, Iowa. Doug spent his lifetime in the agricultural field specializing in the dairy industry. He was employed with GEA Farm Technologies WS Southeast for the last five years. He was a past president of the Suwannee River Riding Club and had been a member there consecutively for the last 20 years. Doug enjoyed team roping with his family and friends and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church and had just recently celebrated 40 years of marriage on October 8, 2011. Mr. Elliott is survived by his loving wife: Sharon Elliott; two sons: Douglas Scott and Rianna Elliott; James D. ‘JD’ and De Elliott, all of Live Oak, FL; one sister: Mary Ann and Jerry Hooper, Melbourne, FL; and three grandchildren: Ramsey Dylan Elliott, Addison Cooper Elliott, and James Brayden Elliott. He was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Miller. A visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Daniels Funeral Home, Live Oak, FL. Services will be held for Mr. Elliott at 1:00pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Rosemary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Bass, Rev. Craig Nelson, and Rev. Greg Kirkland officiating.Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
