George Albert "Al" Greene, 88, O'Brien, FL passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. He was born in Lake City, FL, moved to O'Brien thirty years ago from River Ridge, LA, and attended Union Baptist Church. Mr. Greene also served in the Army 82nd Airborne and Navy reserve. He volunteered at the VA, served as a past potentate Jerusalem Temple, and past President of the Southeastern Shrine; he was also known for transporting children to the Shiners Hospital using his own airplane.

Mr. Greene is survived by his sons: George S. Greene (Julie), Earnest A. Greene (Denise), Thomas A. Greene, Terry L. Greene (Michelle), Gary B. Greene (Tara); daughter: Geneva Karen Ziller (Robert); and daughter-in-law: Debbie Greene; sister: Audrey Nelson; brothers: Arnold Greene, Andrew Greene (Sherry); nineteen grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife: Sarah Cooksey Greene and his son: Vernon Greene.

Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 15th at Daniels Memorial Chapel in Branford with a visitation held prior to the service beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Shiners Hospital at https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/giving .
