Alfred R. Bass, a lifelong resident of Branford, FL, passed away at the age of 92 on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Born on January 22, 1933, to the late AZ and Alice Bass, Alfred was a man of Christian faith who dedicated his life to farming and his family. He farmed tobacco, peanuts, corn, and sweet potatoes and worked loading trucks at the mine for the Suwannee County Road Department. Alfred had a passion for hunting, especially quail, enjoyed working on old tractors, and raising chickens, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Bass, and his children: daughters Elizabeth Sapp (Harold), Christine Lee, and Debbie Vickers; grandson Billy Cannon (Erin); step-daughter Rosemary Trimble (Jim), step-sons Hank Clemons (Tammy) and Daniel Clemons (Elaine). He is also survived by his sister, Annie Mae Touchton, six grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Alfred was preceded in death by his infant son and siblings Arthur Bass, Agnes Wilson, and Alvin Bass.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 5th at Santa Fe Cemetery. Alfred will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to farming, and his deep faith.
