Ann Magdalen Bernadette Henkhaus Lloyd O'Brien celebrated her 93rd birthday, November 15th, and peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, on January 8, 2026, at her home in Live Oak, FL.  She was born in Yoakum, Texas to the late William Arthur Henkhaus and Annie Marie Dryer Henkhaus.  She attended St. Joseph's Catholic School until she graduated in 1950.  She played volleyball and softball in High School and sang in the chorus/choir at St. Joseph's.  Also, she attended Baldwin Business College in Yoakum and then enlisted in the United States Navy on July 8, 1952, stationed at Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL.  She met Clifford (Buddy) Lloyd, who was in the marines, and married him on December 23, 1952.  She was honorably discharged from the Navy on September 8, 1953, and they resided in Jacksonville, FL.  She worked at Springfield Bank in Jacksonville for two years and then was employed by the St. Regis Paper Mill Company on East Port Road in Jacksonville, until a fatal accident took her husband, Buddy, on October 17, 1967. Then she transferred to the St. Regis corporate office in downtown Jacksonville, where she continued her 28 year employment with the company.

She married Joe O'Brien on October 26, 1968 and they had one son, Michael Edwin O'Brien.  She went to work for the Zisser Law Firm in downtown Jacksonville, after the paper mill shut down.  Ann moved to the farm in Wellborn on July 19, 1994 with her son, Michael and daughter in law, Doris, when Joe died.  She continued working for the Zisser Law firm for two years before she retired in 1996, which was a total of 10 years employment there.  Ann loved the farm life and took much pride in caring for the horses, cows, dogs and cats over the years, until her health did not allow her.  She also had a great passion for sports, specifically football, baseball and soccer.  She enjoyed watching them with her family, and especially her son, Michael.  Many times they would even listen to games on the radio, instead of watching it on TV, just to anticipate the excitement of the game! She called herself an "avid Gator football and girls soccer fan".  She also supported the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Ann cherished her Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys, since she was often known as the "Yellow Rose of Texas".  She was a dedicated and faithful parishioner of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, who loved Jesus Christ, her Savior.  She attended services several times a week, and served as Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Sacristan.  Ann had a love for people and always greeted everyone with a holy kiss and a beautiful smile. We will forever miss looking into those baby blue eyes and seeing her smiling face.

She leaves behind two daughters-in-law, Barbara O'Brien and Doris Redish (Collin),  one grandson, Mathew Stary (Amanda), and six great-grand grandchildren.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, some of whom are: James Mobley (Kathy) Norman Mobley (Karen), Susan Parrish (Nick), Candace Phillips (Rick). She was proceeded in death by her two husbands, her son, and her older brother, Wesley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, in Live Oak, FL.  The vigil will be at 10am and mass will start at 11am, with a committal service following, at Live Oak Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and loved ones for a celebratory reception, at her home in Live Oak, directly following the burial.
