Obituary

Annie Ruth Cribbs, of St Augustine, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ, on January 9, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Jack and Victoria Parker; her ten brothers and sisters; her beloved husband of 56 years, Dewitt Cribbs; her daughter, Pat; her son-in-law, Joe Chaney; and her son, Ervin Cribbs. Ruth is survived by her son, Jerry (Rosiland), along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

Ruth had a long and full life. In 1963, she began working at Eagles Department Store and later worked for Cheek and Scotts Drug Store. During this time she returned to school and earned her GED. She later worked at Dacier Manor in Dowling Park. Ruth loved cooking for her family, caring for her grandchildren, gardening, canning, and traveling with the Senior Saints. In 2013, she left her home in Live Oak and moved to St. Augustine to live with family, where she continued to enjoy gardening and baking.

Ruth loved her Lord, her family and friends, her home in Suwannee County, and her church family at Beulah Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a church custodian.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to St. Augustine Community Hospice and Palliative Care nurses, CNA's and Social Worker for the love and kindness given to Ruth for these past five years.

A service will be held at Beulah Baptist Church in Live Oak, Florida at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery.
