Bonnie Carol Adams, aged 86, passed away peacefully in her home in Branford, Fl. on March 4, 2026. Bonnie was born on February 20, 1940 in Flint Michigan where she would graduate high school as her class Valedictorian and would meet her first husband Harold M. Smith. Harold and Bonnie then moved to Cross City, Fl. for his job and they had three sons, Billy, Gary and Andrew. An explosion at the Continental PLant that Harold worked at resulted in his death in 1965.

Bonnie found love again when she was introduced to Julian Adams from Mayo, Fl. In 1968, she married Julian, added a bonus daughter, Kay Evone, and moved to Lafayette County where she would spend the rest of her days.

Bonnie was a dedicated editor for the Mayo Free Press, and was a devoted member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for 55 years and as a Sunday School teacher.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Agatha Common, her brother, Robert Common, husbands, Harold M. Smith and Julian Adams, and two of her grandchildren, Cory Smith and Heather Smith.

Bonnie is survived by her sons, Billy Smith (Dwayna), Gary Smith, who both reside in Branford, Fl. and Andrew Smith (Tammy), who reside in O'Brien, Fl., and her daughter Kay Evone Adams Lily (Michael) of West Virginia. She was a proud Grandmother to her six grandchildren: Amber Smith Rutherford (John), Cody Smith (Amy), Courtney Smith Kight (Nathan), Amy Smith Knight (Ragon), Colby Smith (Alyssa) and Lauren Smith Parker (Derrick) and a Great-Grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren: Madalynn Rutherford, Levi Smith, Ryleigh Vincent, Nolan Knight, Payne Knight, Cooper Smith, Korie Jewel Kight, Asher (Tate) Smith, Eli Smith, Asher Knight, River Smith, Attie Reed, Abigail Smith, Rhett Parker, Jake Rutherford, and Mason Parker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Mt. Paran Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Randy Waters and Rev. Spencer Corbett. Internment will follow at the Maypop Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church.
