Bruce Oliver Sullivan, born March 23, 1966, passed away on August 23, 2026.

Bruce lived a life marked by work, service, faith, and love for his family. He worked at the GE Battery Plant and later served as a Correctional Officer at Columbia Correctional Institute. He also devoted more than 25 years to ministry as a bi-vocational pastor at McCrabb Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Jena. A faithful Christian, Bruce was known for the steady way he lived out his beliefs.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Those who knew Bruce also knew the many sides of his personality. As a boy, he was known as “Rooster,” a nickname that stayed with him in the memories of family and friends. He was protective, opinionated, and deeply caring. He was also a great uncle who always played with the kids, bringing laughter and energy wherever family gathered.

Bruce enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting and fishing, and he was a devoted fan of University of Florida Gator sports, especially football. These interests brought him joy and gave him many good times with the people around him.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Sullivan, and by his sons, Brett (Stephanie), Brad, and Charles Sullivan. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda Sullivan Humphrey (Donnie), and by his brothers, Eddie Sullivan and Jerry Sullivan. He will be remembered with love by his family and by all who were blessed to know him.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Sullivan; his mother, Elizabeth Dees; his step-father, James Land; and his sister, Debbie.

Visitation will be held on August 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Hatchbend Baptist Church, 3029 County Road 342, Branford, Florida 32008. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Bruce Oliver Sullivan will be remembered for his faith, his strength, his love for family, and the way he shared his life with others. His memory will remain a blessing to those who loved him.
