Byron Bass, 71, McAlpin, FL passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He was born in Valdosta, GA  and although he lived most of his life in Suwannee County he still had a long connection to Georgia. Mr. Bass retired from Florida Department of Ag after 28 years and was of Baptist Faith. He was a jack of all trades, great local mechanic and welder, who could do anything. If someone needed help, he would do it. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Bass is survived by his wife: Sandra Bass; one daughter: Gwendolyn Bass; two sons: Will Bass, Shane Bass; four sisters: Annie Nell Cain (Roger), Alisa Fortner (Andy), Terry Hayes, Heather Banks (Richard); three brothers: Derwin Bass (Esther), Barry Bass, Dean Bass; Eva Neal; five grandchildren: Jason Bass, Jr., Davin McCray, Emily Mickler, Justin Scott Bass, Lillian Bass; three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son: Jason Bass and sister: Sheila Bass.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 17th at Daniels Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery in Naylor, GA.
