Carolyn Ober, born on January 6, 1938, in Dade City, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, in Pflugerville, Texas. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, love, and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Jestin E. Ober; her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and her cherished grandchildren, James Robertson, Julie Ann Robertson, Joshua Robertson, and Travis Aaron. She now rests in the eternal peace she longed for, having completed her earthly journey with grace and courage.

Carolyn lived a life marked by determination and purpose.  Following high school and cosmetology school, she became a successful business owner, running her own beauty salon while helping her husband manage and operate their family farm. She was never afraid of hard work, responsibility, or sacrifice. Whether creating beauty behind a salon chair or helping build a life through farming, she approached every task with dedication and strength.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Carolyn faithfully served as secretary of Shady Grove Baptist Church and as a Sunday school teacher, giving generously of her time, wisdom, and heart. She loved attending church, listening to Christian music, and singing alto in a Christian ladies group. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about. It was reflected daily through her kindness, consistency, and encouragement to others.

One of Carolyn's greatest joys was serving people through food. She loved baking goodies and sharing them with others. She baked for Awana children, church events, and especially looked forward to Old Timey Days. Christmas was one of her favorite seasons, and she delighted in baking treats and creating handmade gifts for those she loved. Her freezer was always stocked with something special for visitors because she believed in making people feel welcomed, cared for, and remembered.

She also had a special compassion for others. As a cosmetologist, she took great care in helping elderly clients look their best, even providing hair and makeup services for viewings so families could remember their loved ones with dignity. She devoted time to caring for sick, disabled, and elderly friends, never hesitating to help someone in need. Carolyn was a wonderful listener and was known for being loving, wise, generous, and funny. She had a gift for making people feel valued and understood.

Her creative spirit shined in many ways. She loved coloring beautiful pictures with colored pencils and enjoyed crafting with patience and joy. Even in simple hobbies, she found ways to bring beauty into the world. She had a warmth about her that made ordinary moments feel special and made others feel seen and appreciated.

Family was at the center of Carolyn's life. As a mother, she devoted herself to raising her four sons and one daughter with love, guidance, and unwavering support. She was blessed with 23 grandchildren 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, each of whom was touched by her love and influence. She is survived by her sons Kenneth Robertson and wife Donna, Richard Robertson, Thomas Robertson, and Rusty Robertson; and her daughter Melissa Ybarra and husband Sammy. Her family was her greatest joy, and she provided them with a foundation built on faith, perseverance, and unconditional love.

Carolyn lived with intention. She worked hard, prayed faithfully, served generously, and loved fiercely. She faced life's challenges with strength and met every season with courage. Her life reminds us that true success is measured not by what we gain, but by the love we give, the faith we keep, and the lives we touch along the way.

Her greatest desire was to see Jesus, and now that hope has become her eternal reality. She has finished her race, kept the faith, and entered into the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly. Carolyn's life was one of devotion, service, and grace. Her legacy lives on through the generations she shaped, the lives she touched, and the Savior she faithfully followed.

A visitation will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, June 10th at Daniels Memorial Chapel with the service following at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Eric Linton. Internet will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
