Chad Eugene Driskell was born in Kennesaw, Georgia, on April 11, 1989, to Patricia Wainwright and David Driskell. From a young age, Chad's curious spirit was evident. He loved to sit with his siblings and cousins as they were told captivating stories by their Papa, none more captivating than the tale of Lonesome Joe. He would sit on the edge of his seat, anxiously awaiting the next gripping detail about this gloomy character. Lonesome Joe was always hopping trains and going place to place, and this tale seemed to resonate with Chad. His mom described him as a MacGyver Junior.

Around the age of ten, his curiosity drove him to begin exploring the intricate components of her old appliances. He would ask her not to throw them away so he could keep and use them to build things only his mind could imagine. He had a knack for deconstructing an old appliance to repurpose the parts into a new functioning contraption. On one occasion, he took parts of an old appliance and made a rechargeable battery charger- before his mom even knew such a thing existed. Into his teenage and adult years, Chad became a skilled mechanic of small engines. You would often find him in his mom's back yard working on whatever he could find that needed fixing- lawnmowers, tillers, motorcycles, and trucks. As his dad described, "If his heart was in it, he could fix it. He might have had his own way of doing it, but he would get it done."  Chad truly enjoyed driving motorcycles and was known to take dirt roads most never even knew existed. He was known to travel from  one side of the county to the other taking nothing but dirt roads. He told his mom once that those were the times when he experienced his most peaceful moments, riding his motorcycle down a dirt road.  Chad had a deep love of country music and, with no formal lessons, taught himself to play the guitar by ear. He enjoyed strumming out a new tune and wasn't afraid to chime in with his newest lyrics, usually to express what was recently on his mind and heart. Through music, Chad found a way to share pieces of his soul with those around him.

Chad cherished his family and made every effort to be a part of gatherings when he was nearby, often dressed in a western style shirt and fancy belt buckle that spoke of his character. He treasured time with his cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents and especially liked to tell his Papa about his latest ideas and dreams. Some of his fondest moments were the times spent trading wild stories and laughter with his cousins, all gathered around the tailgate of a pickup truck with the comfort of a cold beer in hand.  Chad was the oldest of three children and is survived by his mother, Tricia Wainwright, father, David Driskell (Lottie), two younger siblings, Kayla Thompson (Drew), Kyle Driskell (Mandy), as well as a half-sister, Nicole Vaughn (James) through their father. He is also survived by his two children, Alaura Driskell and Haley Driskell, and the mother of Alaura Driskell, Belinda Driskell. He leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Carl and Gail Wainwright, and his paternal grandmother, Wilma Clark.

Chad will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his spirit find the peace and rest he so greatly deserves.

Funeral Services will be held June 3rd, 2025, 11:00AM at Daniels Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Pat Chewning officiating. A visitation will start 10:00am, with the interment following immediately after to Live Oak Cemetery.
