Charles Boyd was born February 4, 1945 and was welcomed by Jesus on May 14, 2026.

Charles was born to Willie and Cora Boyd as the second to last child of their large family.  He is predeceased by both of his parents as well as ten of his siblings.

Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lela and their three children, Charlotte (Anthony), Beverly (Jamie) and Nathan (Pam) as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Charles is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie Swinford and Elizabeth Barfuss and one brother, Shelton Boyd.

Charles lived his life as a builder, inventor and craftsman.  He spent over 60 years in the construction industry, retiring 15 years ago.  He spent his retirement years enjoying the woods on his tractor, creating innovative items in his woodshop to delight his family with special one of a kind "grandpa made gifts".  He was often called upon by his family to create unique designs and construction projects in their homes.

Charles will always be remembered as a son, brother, husband, father and grandpa that represents all that is steady, constant and true.  He was quick with a joke, silly quote or funny story to make you laugh and lighten your load.  His helping hands were always extended to aid those in need who called upon him.  He was saved by faith by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with whom is walks with now upon those golden streets.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 19th at Mary Belle Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Tim Setzer.
