Charles Kenneth Deese, 85,  Wellborn, FL passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.  Charles was born on March 12, 1937 in Delray Beach, FL, where his father worked for several years before moving the family back to his hometown of Wellborn, FL.  Charles graduated from Suwannee High School before attending the University of Florida where he graduated in 1959 with a BS in Electrical Engineering.  Charles served in the Air Force following college where he worked on the electronic systems for the chimps who flew in space as part of the Mercury Program.  He then worked as an electrical engineer for McDonnell-Douglas in Titusville before moving back to Wellborn in 1995 from Mims, FL.  He was an active member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.  He enjoyed growing sugar cane and making cane syrup, his catfish pond, reading and loved his dogs Buddy & Billy.  Charles is survived by his daughter: Amy Deese (Ed Leongomez), Mims, FL; wife: Ella Deese, McAlpin, FL; step-children: Catherine Goff (Brett), Warner Robins, GA, Howard Mobley, Jr., Warner Robins, GA; nephew: Josh Deese (Sierra), Jasper, FL, and great-nephew: Rhipp James Deese, Jasper, FL.  He was preceded in death by his first wife: Hilda Stansel Deese and his sister: Anna Louise Deese.

A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service Saturday, May 7th at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Rev. Louis Gooch will officiate services beginning at 11:00 at the church.  Interment will be held in McClellan Cemetery in Wellborn.
