Clarence E. Jackson Sr. Passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2023.  born March 12, 1942 to H.H. and Nell Jackson in Jasper, Fla. After graduation Clarence joined the U.S Navy where he served 4 years mostly stationed in the Antarctic. Returning to his hometown he met and married Sara Lamb on Nov 11, 1961. In 1974 they moved to Mayo Fla where they raised their family until moving to Live Oak in 1989 After working 25 years at W.S. Badcock he retired in 1997 as Supervisor of Trucking.  At retirement Clarence went on to work a couple of trucking jobs and then retired full time a few years later. Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching tv and telling stories of his childhood and hunting days.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents H.H Jackson and Nell Newbern, his step father Carl Newbern , one sister Sue Chandler, one brother Bill Jackson and his wife of 60 years Sara Jackson.

Clarence is survived by 2 daughters Michelle Deas of live oak, Lisa ( Melvin ) May of Chattanooga Tennessee, one son Clarence Eddie Jackson Jr of Douglas Georgia. One brother Harry H Jackson III of Live Oak, 7 grandchildren Aubrey Jr, Nikki & Natalie Copeland, Timothy (TJ) and Matt Peavy , Kayla Jackson Bonds, Dylan Jackson.  9 great grandchildren and a lot of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 23rd at Daniels Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wendy Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Pat Chewning officiating. There will be a visitation held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
