Dan Avera, 98, Live Oak, FL passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024. Mr. Avera was born in Jacksonville, FL, moved to Live Oak in 1946 from Jacksonville, and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in McAlpin, FL. He was a WWII, Korea and Vietnam Veteran; he also retired after a combined 20 years of service with the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army, and the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Mr. Avera is survived by his children: Wyndell Avera (Betty), Sharon Poston (Walter), Allison Avera (Donna); numerous grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce Allison Avera and son: Eddie Avera.

Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 19th at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Gavin Cashmore and Mr. Walter Poston officiating. There will be a visitation held prior to the service at the church beginning at 9:30 am. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
