Diane Walker-Saunders, 74, of Branford, FL passed away from a brief illness on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Diane was born and raised on the family farm near Branford, Fl. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended North Florida Community College. The youngest of 8 children, Diane maintained close ties with family. She loved spending time with her family and many friends, hosting holiday gatherings and enjoying the beach, snow skiing, water sports, and Vegas visits. For many years, she sang with the Walkers Family singing group. A successful businesswoman, she ran several businesses over the years including Siesta Sleep Shop, Friends Fine Things clothing boutique, and Mary Kay consultation.

Residing for most of her life in the Branford community, Diane developed a love for her small town and neighbors. She was community-minded and always helped with fundraisers, serving in local events and as a leader in the Catfish Festival. Diane was an avid supporter of the Branford Town Council and her husband's work as Councilman. Christmas was her favorite holiday and her extensive outdoor decorations and light displays spread the joy of the season to visitors and passersby. She loved flowers and was adept at raising beautiful potted flowers and hanging baskets that adorned her home. Diane was a longtime member of Ephesus Advent Christian Church.

She is survived by her beloved companion and husband of 28 years: Ken Saunders; sons: Todd Thames (Justine) and Matt Tompkins (Hope); step-daughters: Danielle Saunders and Jammie Saunders; sister: Kay Frances Walker; grandchildren: Kayla, Alexia, Colton, Brandi, Brandon, Quincy, Liz, Grant, Easton, Mattie, Chris, Eli, Alex, Elizabeth, Jasmine, Tristen, and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents John Quincy and Katie Walker and siblings: Faye Anderson, Imogene Walker, Jamie Walker, Mona Hurst, Marcia Hurst, and Johnnie Gale Walker.

There will be a celebration of her life at 2 pm Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Ephesus Advent Christian Church with a visitation prior to the service from 1 - 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.almsministry.org or to your favorite Branford area charity or fundraiser.
