Donald E. “Don” Edwards passed away on August 26, 2026. He was born on September 26, 1944, in Laurel Hill, Florida.

Don lived a life defined by hard work, determination, and steady purpose. In his early years, he had an ice business, beginning a career marked by initiative and a willingness to build through honest effort. He later owned food convenience stores in Live Oak and Perry, continuing to invest himself in the communities he served. Don went on to start Certified Plumbing and Electric, a business that grew to three locations in Live Oak, Lake City, and Eastpoint. He was also involved in real estate, including flips and rentals. Those who knew him recognized that he was successful in anything he put his mind to do.

He also served his country with honor in the United States Navy during Vietnam, a chapter of his life that remained a point of pride. Don was a member of Hayward Lodge #45 of Live Oak and a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church for more than 45 years.

Don will be remembered as a quiet man, the kind of person for whom still waters run deep. He was known as a hard worker, and his life reflected perseverance, commitment, and strength of character. Through both his work and his example, he left a lasting impression on those around him.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Glenda Edwards. He also leaves his daughter, Lori Crislip (Oak); his sons, Steven Murrel Kemp and John Seaman (Jennifer). Don is also survived by his sisters, Judith Price and Sheryl Chestnut, and by his brother, James “Pete” Edwards (Phyllis). His memory will be cherished as well by his grandchildren, Colt, Cara (Austin), Brandy, and Dylan. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on August 31, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church, 10413 U.S. 129, Live Oak, Florida 32060. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church.
