Doris Symons Carroll, 92, Lake City, FL, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022. The Paterson, New Jersey native moved from Chatham, LA to Lake City where she lived most of her life. She was a 20-year retired licensed practical nurse for the Lake Butler Correctional Institute and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church, Lake City. Mrs. Carroll is survived by her husband of 74 years: William H. Carroll, Lake City, FL; Daughter: Helen Preus (Paul) Archer, FL; Sons: William "Bill" Carroll (Marsha), Gilbert, SC, Walter Carroll (Brenda), Quitman, GA, David Carroll (Jane) Vidalia, GA and Marty Null (Eilleen), Madison, FL; Sister: DeDe Miller, Toms River, NJ; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Grace Rothwell, Alice King, and Helen Nahass; Brothers: Walter Symons, Bill Symons, Leonard Symons, and Ray Symons. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Parkview Baptist Church, Lake City with Rev. Dewey Fountain officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens cemetery. There will be a visitation held prior to the service at the church from 10:00 am until service time.
