Evelyn Jo Edgerton 88 passed away May 8, 2026, at her home in Jennings, FL. Jo was born on December 25, 1937 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of the late James and Hazel (Miller) Anderson.  In 1959 Jo was united in marriage with the love of her life, Daniel E. Edgerton, her husband of sixty-three years, who preceded her in death in 2022. Jo started her nursing career in 1956. She worked in a couple of different hospitals while Daniel served in the Air Force before settling in Southwest Florida, where she started at Lee Memorial Hospital and went on to open the Birthday Suites at the Health Park Hospital in Southwest Florida. Delivering babies was what she loved. Jo and Dan loved riding their motorcycles, starting in 1975 they rode cross country through all 48 States until 2016. Jo was an active member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with her husband and was an active member of Gideons International for twenty-eight years. Jo and Dan celebrated a milestone of 60 years by renewing their vows in 2019. Survivors include their two daughters, Debra Lynn (Ken) Holt, Dani Rene (Terry) Truckenmiller, son, Craig Eugene (Tonya) Edgerton, her eleven grandchildren, Kevin, Cheryl, Travis, Jason, Clinton, Kenneth Jr., Jennifer, Christopher, Joshua, Aaron, George; one grandson preceded in death LCpl Willard Earl Truckenmiller, also surviving are her 17 great-grandchildren. Jo was also preceded in death by her sisters Beatrice (Anderson) Lonergan, Beverly Jean (Anderson) Weinands, and half-sister, Grace Culler.  Services will take place at 1:00 pm on June 18th in Tallahassee National Cemetery.
