Frances Humphries Johnson

Frances passed away on September 20, 2026, at HCA Suwannee Emergency Room. She was born on February 20, 1934, to J.L. and Bessie Humphries in Branford, Florida, and lived her entire life in Suwannee County. On January 20, 1953, Frances married James Albert Johnson, and they shared a loving marriage until James' passing in March 2008. Together, they had two cherished sons, Al (John Albert) and Raymond (James Raymond), both residing in Live Oak.

Frances was educated in Suwannee County and worked for Suwannee County Schools. She retired from Elementary East School in 1998 to care for her husband James. A devoted member of Philadelphia Baptist Church of McAlpin, Frances enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing the piano, gardening, and was a dedicated wife and mother. She is survived by her sons and numerous nieces and nephews. Frances is proceeded in death by her husband, sisters: Alathea, Jo Ella; brothers: Melvin, Curtis, Carl, John, and Raymond. 

A visitation for Mrs. Frances will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23rd at Daniels Memorial Chapel, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Danny Humphries and Dr. Ben Bush. Interment will take place at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
