Harold Franklin Lindsey was born to John and Isabelle Suggs Lindsey on February 10, 1935, in Hatchbend, FL. He passed away peacefully at 88 years of age on September 23, 2023, at Haven Hospice, Lake City, FL. On June 26, 1955, he was married to Mary Ann Walker. After many travels during his 21 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard, he settled in Hatchbend, with his family where he was an active member of the Hatchbend Baptist Church. After retiring from the military, he served 20 more years in the Florida Department of Corrections as an officer. Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife of 68 years: Mary Ann Lindsey, Hatchbend; Brother: Benjie (Karol) Lindsey, Hatchbend; Brother-in-law: William Heithaus, Hatchbend; Children: John (Kim) Lindsey, Hatchbend, Bruce Lindsey, St. Pete, and Patricia (Bill) Lee, Hatchbend; Grandchildren: Candace (Tim) Naughton, Chris Lee, Aaron (Arika) Lindsey, Danny Shea, Anna (Houston) Hingson, and Tyler Shea; Great-grandchildren: Fallon, Tucker, Aiden, and Aria. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Isabelle Lindsey; Sister; Mildred Heithaus; Grandson: Kevin Shea.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the Hatchbend Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Paterson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held before the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
