J. Clinton Rogers, 75, passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at his home in Bell, FL. Clinton was born on April 2, 1948, in Day, FL to William "Buck" and Fannie Mae Rogers. He grew up in the Live Oak and Lake City areas graduating from Suwannee County High School in 1966.

Clinton joined the US Army in March 1967. He returned home to marry the love of his life, Estelle Conner, on April 7, 1968; and shortly thereafter, he was deployed to serve in the Vietnam War. He worked at Brasington, Cadillac and Oldsmobile for 37 years. After retiring, he also worked for the Gilchrist County School Maintenance Department and Gilchrist Building Supply.

He was most well-known for his many years of service to the youth of Gilchrist County through 4-H programs. He was a leader of the Santa Fe 4-H Club for over 20 years and helped many young people in local and regional activities. He also founded the Santa Fe 4-H Boosters to help fund exhibitors at the Suwannee River Fair Swine and Steer sale. His goal to help exhibitors extended to all 4-H clubs and FFA exhibitors in the tri-county area when necessary.

Clinton served at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher in various age groups. He was ordained as a deacon and was committed to serving his church and community.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, CH Rogers, Catherine Harry and Charles "Red" Rogers. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Estelle, his daughters, Lori & Jeff Hayes and Tricia & Matt Williams, a granddaughter, Ashley Hayes, grandsons, Eric & Nina Wood and Nicholas Williams and brother-in-law, Terry Conner & Donna Philman along with nieces, nephews and many friends that have become family.

Services will be held Friday, March 15 th at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church located at 4200 NW CR 340 in Bell, FL Doors will open at 9:30 a.m.
