Jacqueline "Jackie" Jeanne Christenson, born in East St. Louis, Illinois, passed away in Dowling Park, Florida on Saturday afternoon, February 21, 2026 at the age of 83.

Jackie was born February 8, 1943 the daughter of the late Joseph A. Renneker and Mildred Ethel (Gamble) Hall.

On July 9, 1980 she was united in marriage to Paul A. Christenson who preceded her in death.

Jackie lived out the Biblical admonition to "fear not." She wasn't afraid to try new things and get involved.  In her younger years, making ends meet was her priority, working jobs from waitressing to clerking in an attorney's office. Jackie was an avid reader and a lifetime learner. As life moved on, she became very involved in church in whatever community she lived. Her love for children led her to serve in many children's ministries and she was even happy to dress up as a clown for the kids on many occasions. She supported the church in a variety of other ministries as well, even putting in the effort to earn a certificate as a Eucharistic Minister.

Giving back to the community in other ways was also important to her, and she volunteered with the Red Cross for many years. In that capacity, Jackie was there to help in South Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew in 1992, and she travelled to New York to serve in 2001 after 9/11. She finished her service as the Executive Director of the American Red Cross in Columbia County.

Did we mention she loved kids?  She loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. If there was a wedding, graduation, birth of a child, or any momentous occasion, you could count on Jackie to be there, whether it was 40 miles away or 400 miles away. She would take the initiative to plan visits and time together. She will be missed.

She is survived by three siblings, Roger Hall of Wytheville Virginia, Kimberly Hall of Wytheville Virginia, and Vickie Faulkner and her husband Wayne of Sydney Australia. Her 8 children Bill Kaiser and his wife Debby of Fairview Heights Illinois, Barbara K. Doty of Lake City Florida, Bonnie Jo Fleury and her husband Jake of Melbourne Florida, Karen Adams and her husband Derek of Clinton Mississippi, David Christenson of Adamsville Tennessee, Regina Miles and her husband Robert of Dade City Florida, Noriko Christenson of Safety Harbor Florida and James Christenson of Sydney Australia, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Jackie was preceded in death by two of her brothers, Butch Hall and Scott Hall.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, March 12th, 2026, at the Bixler Memorial Advent Christian Church. A visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 until service time.

Jackie and Paul Christenson will be interred together at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida at a later date, check back for the update for the service time.
