Jacquelyn Cawby Weaver

June 23, 1928 – April 18, 2023

It is with great sadness the family of Jacquelyn (Jacky) Cawby Weaver announces she passed away at her home in Live Oak, Florida on April 18, 2023. Jacky was very loved and will be missed terribly.

Jacky dedicated her adult life to her husband, her family, and her teaching profession.

Always happiest with a child in her lap and a furry creature by her side, Jacky was a quiet champion for children and animals. Born in Frostproof, Florida on June 23, 1928, she was a 4 ^th generation Floridian and a proud descendent of early Florida settlers. She graduated from Frostproof High School in Frostproof, Florida. Jacky's mother, Vivian Langford Cawby, was a librarian and so she developed a love for reading at an early age.

Upon graduating from The University of Florida, Jacky began her lifelong profession of teaching special education and elementary school students in Florida. She was passionate about education and taught for over 40 years with her final years teaching kindergarten in Live Oak. She taught so many that she would often be approached in public by adults she taught as children. She always enjoyed when they recognized her and said hello. She counted her fellow teachers among her dearest and closest friends.

Jacky married Harry Weaver in September 1954 in civil and religious ceremonies in Wiesbaden, Germany. Harry was stationed there, and Jacky was the Director of an officer's club.

Those who knew her well will remember her sense of humor, her contagious laugh, and her beautiful flower gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harry Kinnis Weaver, Sr (August 28, 1929 – June 23, 2019.) She is survived by her constant companion, Kirby the Chihuahua, her children Harry (Kin) Weaver, Jr. (Virginia), Roth Weaver (Brad), Gayle Crespo (Stephen), grandchildren Lee Weaver, Jabe Weaver, Hal Weaver (Taylor), and her Great Grandchildren Kayden Weaver, Reece Weaver, and Halston Weaver.

Jacky requested there be no memorial service or visitation. Her family will hold a private internment service. She will be interred with her beloved best friend and husband, Harry, at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
