Jim was born on November 9, 1950, in Lansing, Michigan. His parents relocated to Florida in the 1960s where Jim attended school.  He graduated from Boone High School, Florida Technological University (now the University of Central Florida) with a BS and Rollins College with a MS. Jim felt the calling to serve his fellow man and joined the Orlando Police Department on 12-8-73 as a patrolman. On 12-10-98 after rising through the ranks he retired as Deputy Chief. He then spent several years as the Assistant Director at Valencia Community College Criminal Justice Institute. Jim's greatest achievement though, was when after he graduated from Seminary (2011) with a Doctorate in Philosophy in Biblical Studies, he was ordained as a Christian Minister (2013). He launched "Water into Wine Ministries" on Facebook. Using the motto 'Traversing life's hills and valleys armed with faith and inspiration", he wrote vignettes of life coupled with the Lord's teachings. Jim will forever be missed by his wife Karin, daughters Jessica, Lisa, Stephanie, and son Ben, brother Ray, sister Becky, and his fur babies Miss Demeanor, Peanut, Wookie, and Micah. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 5th  at St. Lukes Episcopal Church.
