James "Jimmy" Gary Wilson was born in Buffalo, New York on September 9, 1933, to Leila and Gary Wilson. Jimmy was a proud Veteran of Peace Time, he served in the Florida National Guard and the U.S. Navy. On January 14, 1958, he married the love of his life, Joyce Corbin, and just celebrated sixty-five years together. He retired in 1998 from the Suwannee County School Board in their Maintenance Department.

Jimmy was an active member of Westwood Baptist Church in Live Oak, FL. He was a member of the Suwannee Quarterback Club for twenty-four years. As a Suwannee Bulldog season ticket holder, he attended all of the games he was able to and followed them on the radio when he was not able to go in person. He was an enthusiastic Florida Gator Football fan. He stood by them through thick and thin and always explained their losses as the fault of the referees.

Jimmy was known for his wide-ranging knowledge to fix ANYTHING. His family relied on Grandpa to fix it if it was broken and if Grandpa wasn't there, Facetime was always a good substitute.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Leila and Gary Wilson, his sisters: Marceline Ambrose, Patty Day, Norma Jean Brock, and his brother: Wayne Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years: Joyce; his sister: Barbara Howland; daughter: Valerie Roper; son: James (Gloria), Live Oak; grandchildren: Sheri Wilson, Los Angeles, CA, Mark Wilson, Los Angeles, CA, Mike Wilson (Jan), Jacksonville, FL, Will Roper (Carri) Tallahassee, Amanda Compton (Josh), Keystone Heights, Tommy Roper (Theda), Live Oak, Troy Roper (Kristy), Marietta; great-grandchildren: Lizzie, Cash, Emery, Adelyn and he was loved by his many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 am Thursday, February 2nd at Daniels Memorial Chapel with a visitation held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be held at Live Oak Cemetery.
