Jerry D. Harris, 80, Old Town, FL passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023. The Cross City, FL-born native moved to Old Town over twenty years ago. He served in the Navy for 6 years and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He also served as Police Chief for Branford, Chief Deputy for Lafayette, Deputy for Suwannee, and for Dixie County for over 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Harris is survived by his daughter: Lisa Jay Dunning, Old Town, FL; son: Shane Travis Harris, Hatchbend, FL; brother: Rev. Larry Dean Harris (Lucy), Thomasville, GA; three grandchildren: Shayla Harris, Weldon Clu Dunning, and Maylee Grace Bryan.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 23rd at New Prospect Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Larry Harris officiating.
