Joan Bonita Chauncey, 69, of Live Oak, FL passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Live Oak and a talented pianist. She loved swimming in those cold springs and grabbing sub sandwiches from the Live Oak Sub Shop to bring while spring hopping along the famous Suwannee River. She cherished old childhood memories with her cousins and friends, and she often reminisced about her time with her cheerleading squads. Ms. Chauncey is survived by her son: Walter Thomas "Trey" Leigh, III, San Antonio, TX; brothers: Raymond L. Chauncey, III (Millie), Live Oak, and Clifton Michael Chauncey, Sr (Debbie), Wellborn. She was preceded in death by her son: Jack McCullers Cross, III. Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 5th at Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Chauncey officiating.
