John Drew Evans, a lifelong resident of Suwannee County, passed away at the age of 72 on August 13, 2025, in McAlpin, FL.

John retired from Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative after forty-one years of dedicated service as Safety Director. He was a dedicated Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and a cherished member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church. John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Gwenn A. Evans of McAlpin, FL; his son, Dale Evans and wife Nicole of McAlpin; his sister, Jean Rehkop of Live Oak; and his brothers, Richard Evans and wife Pat, Donald Evans, and Mitchell Evans and his wife Pam, all of Live Oak. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, JD and Elizabeth Evans, and his niece, Ashley Denise Evans.

A celebration of John's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 15th at Philadelphia Baptist Church, with Rev. Rick Hill and Rev. Bill Dillhyon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Operation Christmas Child or the Building Fund at Philadelphia Baptist Church.
