John "Billy" William Pettrey, Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished brother, fell asleep in death on March 10, 2026, at the age of 65. His dedication to Jehovah was evident in the kindness, compassion, and love he showed to everyone he met. His share in the prison witnessing work was something he loved doing. It was just another way for him to serve Jehovah faithfully. He found great joy in sharing and encouraging others with the hope and comfort that Jehovah provides.

Above all else, he was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband who cherished his marriage and loved his wife, Sadie, dearly, and a caring father and grandfather who took pride in guiding and supporting his children. As a brother and friend, he was dependable, thoughtful, and always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.

Those who knew him know he never met a stranger. He loved talking to people and making them laugh and sharing his love for our Heavenly Father. In his free time, he loved being outdoors, especially hunting. Time spent in the woods with his family brought him peace and happiness—no deer ever stood a chance if he was around. It was something he truly enjoyed and passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his steady presence, and the love he showed through both words and actions. His faith in Jehovah, his devotion to family, and his kind spirit will leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Sadie Pettrey; his children, John & Dana Pettrey III, Priscilla & Chase Summers, and Michael Pettrey; his grandchildren, Abigail, Jaxsen, Ambrie, Austin, Aven, and Anthony; his siblings, Kenneth & Penny Pettrey, Dennis & Patty Pettrey, and Peggy & Chris Phillips; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply every day.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mikey Pettrey; his parents, John & Carol Pettrey Sr.; and his little sister, Julie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 14210 US-129, Live Oak, FL 32060, where family and friends are welcome to gather and remember him.

He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
