Joseph D. Matthews, aged 75, of Fort White, FL, passed away on May 25, 2026. He was born in Hanover, NH, on July 21, 1950. Joseph spent most of his life in Branford and was known for his work as a farmer. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his loving family, including his daughter Mary Caskins and her husband Craig of O'Brien, and his three sons: Richard Matthews and his wife Teresa of Fort White, Jody Matthews and his wife Brenda of O'Brien, and Adam Matthews of O'Brien. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Ezell of Arkansas, and two brothers, George Matthews and his wife Marian, and Tom Matthews, both of Tallahassee. Joseph was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son: Abraham Matthews.
