Julius Clinton Lawson, affectionately known as JC, passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 68 after a long illness. Born on April 22, 1957, in Indiana to the late Harry Clinton and LaReal Lawson, JC moved to Bell, FL, 45 years ago from Mt. Hope, WV. His passion for helping others began at the age of 16 when he volunteered at his local fire department in Winter Springs, leading to a career spanning over 45 years. JC served as the Fire Chief for Lafayette County and was a devoted fan of Florida State University. He enjoyed fishing and was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Bell, FL.

JC is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol Leggett Lawson; his daughter, Candace Lawson Langford; his brothers, Charles Angove and John Angove; and his cherished grandchildren, Aidan Langford and Riley Langford. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 1st at New Hope Baptist Church, followed by a service at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Billy Philman. Interment will take place at Wayfair Cemetery.
