Kent R. "Smitty" Schmidt, 79, of Live Oak, FL passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022, in his home. The South Bend, IN native, moved to Live Oak in 2000 from Del Ray Beach, FL. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Schmidt is survived by his wife of 22 years: Rosemary P. Schmidt; Son: Kent R. Schmidt, Jr; Daughter: Jenna Helmerick; Grandchildren: Damon, Jazmin, and Dominic Helmerick.  A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am Friday, April 22, 2022, in the Daniels Memorial Chapel.
