Linda Nell Stansel Timm, 75, of Lake City, Florida, peacefully passed away on July 8, 2026, after returning to the area she always called home. Born on January 10, 1951, in Wellborn, Florida, she was the daughter of Theron "Buck" and Hazel Stansel. Although she spent many years making her home in Niles, Michigan, her Florida roots always remained close to her heart.

Since the eighth grade, Linda knew she was called to become a teacher. She was a gifted and devoted educator who spent more than three decades serving students and making a difference in their lives. Throughout her career, she taught in a variety of settings, including elementary education, physical education, and special needs education with both children and adults, while also coaching high school sports early in her career. Of all her roles, elementary education held a special place in her heart, where she found joy in helping children learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Linda generously gave of her own resources to help meet the needs of her students, ensuring they had the support and encouragement they needed to succeed. The countless students whose lives she touched were among her greatest accomplishments.

Whether in the classroom, church, or her community, Linda faithfully gave her time and talents in service to others. Over the years, she volunteered in many capacities, including teaching Sabbath School, serving on local fair committees, assisting at horse shows, and dedicating countless hours to 4-H and other activities.

Linda had a deep love for animals, especially her horse, Quinta, and her dog, Cody. She found great joy in horseback riding, tending to her yard, and spending time in the barn, often saying she would rather clean horse stalls than cook dinner. Her love of the outdoors reflected the simple country life she cherished growing up on the family farm.

More than anything, Linda treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, caring sister, and cherished friend. Her legacy of faith, compassion, gentle strength, and selfless love will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Thomas Eugene Timm; her daughter, Stephanie Stansel Timmerman (Eric); and her cherished grandson, Colton Jaeger Timmerman. She is also survived by her three sisters, Jean Hunt, Bobbi Salzer (Charles), and Wanda Hogan (David); her brother, Theron "Leon" Stansel (Cindy); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, former students, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
