Lloyd Root, an honorable man was taken by the lord far too early on Jan 9, 2023. 13 years ago, He fell in love with the town of Live Oak and bought land in this "city of purple hearts" to make his permanent homestead.  Lloyd was an ASE-certified master mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, and most of all helping those in need. He loved animals, especially dogs, and was a kind-hearted soul. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion and went to Rocky Sink  Baptist church.  He is survived by his parents Kathleen Root and Douglas Root, sister Liezl Root ( Adam Batista) and brother Luis Root AKA RJ Root, his aunts Kathy, Karen and Keri, and Gigi and cousins Brandon, Shawn, and Lucas, and extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 3 pm Friday, January 13th at Rocky Sink Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Pat Chewning officiating. There will be a visitation held prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 pm.
