Loran Paul Eckard, 66, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Paul was born on March 26, 1956, in Augusta, Georgia, the son of Martin and Amanda Eckard. Paul started his school days in Huntsville, Alabama; a brief time in Colorado, and finished High School in Fircrest, Washington. He later went on to graduate from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington with a degree in Psychology. Other interests took Paul into the Sports Medicine and Athletic Trainer Fields of study which landed him jobs all over the country including jobs with The Everett Giants (AAA Baseball) to Miami Hurricanes and trainer in Saudi Arabia, before returning to Cascade High School as a Trainer in Washington State. Health concerns forced Paul to stop working some years later.

Paul had many health challenges in his life that continued to his passing. He rarely spoke of his health problems. He moved to St. Marie, MT to join his family; Martin, Amanda, and Fred. After Martin, Amanda and Fred went to the Lord's House, Paul moved to Florida to live with his brother Doug and his wife Margaret.

Paul enjoyed watching his favorite football team, The Seattle Seahawks, and his favorite baseball team; the Atlanta Braves, his team since the mid-1960s. Paul liked to read and was a big fan of TCM (Turner Classic Movies).

Paul will be remembered for his great smile, sharp wit, and wonderful sense of humor. We will all sadly miss Paul; brother: Doug and sister-in-law: Margaret, Aunt Joanne, cousin: Bill & Joanie, and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Martin and Amanda and his brother: Fred.

There will be a private family service held with a funeral mass held at a later date in Glasgow, Montana.
