Louis Day "Jep" Brown, 70, passed away at HCA Lake City Hospital May 14, 2024 after a year's long struggle with complications from an earlier heart attack. He was born in Live Oak, FL August 29, 1953, to Velmon Barnett "Sonny" Brown and Louis Maude Day. He was a lifelong resident of Live Oak. He finished high school there, then spent time in college, the National Guard and later the Suwannee County Sheriff's Department, all in and around returning to and finishing an over 30-year career in what he knew best, the fuel business. Early on and through the years he worked with father, Sonny in the VBB Distributor fuel oil end of things, then helped establish and very successfully managed the spin off Suwannee Gas Propane business which is still in operation today. He was a member of St Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Gregory Brown and son-in law Bobby J. Maulden, Jr. He is survived by his son Brian Brown, daughter Jenni (Mike) Roberts, brother Michael (Karin) Brown, grandchildren Kade Maulden and Gracie Roberts, and some special cousins, including Sally Hurst, Ednell (Lavaughn) Newbern, Moseley (Ray) Ruark, Beth (Cary, deceased) Day, Nan (Robert) Heath and Matt (Shannon) Brown. A special note of thanks and blessings goes out to our loved one Marisol for her tireless work, love, and support in his care and to us through these difficult yet somehow miraculous years. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Daniels Funeral Home, North Ohio Avenue, Live Oak, FL. A memorial service celebrating his life will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. .
