Mark McCullers, age 65, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at his home. He was born on February 8, 1961. He is survived by his brother Alan McCullers of Live Oak; one sister, Donna Lisa Samaan of Tallahassee; one niece, Simone; and three nephews, Chris, Adrian, and Matthew. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Harrington; his stepfather, Wilbur Harrington; and his brother, Kevin McCullers. Mark was a truly hard-working man who lived life on his own terms. Known for being wonderfully hard-headed but incredibly soft-hearted, he was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need. If you ever needed a hand, Mark was always there.
An avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman, Mark was happiest when he was out in nature, casting a line, or participating in Civil War reenactments to bring history to life. When he wasn't in the woods, on the water, or on the battlefield, you could find him passionately cheering on his favorite team as a devoted, avid Florida State football fan. His loyalty, strength, and willingness to help others will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
A service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, October 12th at Philadelphia Baptist Church with the visitation being held prior at 12:00 pm. Interment will be held at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Please take a moment to sign Mark's guestbook and keep his family in your prayers.
