Martha Lou Cathcart
April 10, 1936 - October 4, 2026
Martha Lou Cathcart, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 4, 2026, in Live Oak, Florida, at the age of 90. She was born on April 10, 1936, in Terre Haute, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leroy Cathcart; her daughter, Cheryl Turley; and her son-in-law, Rex Turley.
She is survived by her son, Robert Cathcart, Jr., and his wife, Tommie; her daughters, Vicky Akers and her husband, Donald, and Kimberly Rohman and her husband, Timothy; her grandchildren, Jeremy (Sherry), Lauren, Jennifer (Joey), Andrew (Chanel), Wesley, Daniel, Russ (Megan), Rachel (Jordan), and Jarrett (Chelsea); and her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Sterling, Kaylee, Camden, Kinston, Imogene, Maya, and Claire.
A devoted believer, Martha lived a life marked by deep faith and an unwavering love for Jesus. For over 25 years, she faithfully served the Lord by teaching children in Sunday school. She left a lasting legacy by passing on that same faith to her children. She loved reading her Bible, journaling, and writing poetry.
Martha’s playful spirit brought laughter and joy to her family, whom she loved deeply and wholeheartedly. She loved to sing, be silly, and go treasure hunting at yard sales.
As a survivor of polio, she knew hardship. Her strength and enduring faith were a meaningful part of her story. She will be lovingly remembered by the generations who carry her faith and love forward.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
- 2 Timothy 4:7, KJV
