Marty Joseph Humphries, a man cherished for his unwavering faith and devotion to family, passed away on August 7, 2024, at the age of 56, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and love. Born on February 11, 1968, Marty was the youngest of twelve children and shared an inseparable bond with his triplet brothers, forging deep connections and enduring memories throughout their lives.

Raised on a humble farm, Marty learned the value of hard work from a young age, a principle that shaped his character and guided him through a remarkable life. Alongside his siblings, Marty embarked on countless adventures on the farm, fostering a spirit of resilience, patience and self-reliance that would lead to him being able to fix just about anything.

Understanding the value of education, Marty pursued and obtained a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. His education laid the foundation for a successful 32-year career at the Florida Department of Transportation, where his expertise and commitment made a lasting impression. While employed at the FDOT, Marty also earned his Professional Engineer License which is a true testament to his dedication to knowledge and professional growth. Beyond his professional duties, Marty generously shared his expertise with those less fortunate, collaborating with churches and individuals in need, providing his design plans and engineering services and making a meaningful impact in his community.

A dedicated member and Deacon of Union Baptist Church in O'Brien, FL, Marty exemplified his faith through service and compassion. His role within the church community reflected his deep spiritual convictions and unwavering support for those in need. He looked forward to sharing his sense of humor with a smile and a joke every Sunday morning.

Marty's commitment to helping others was evident in every facet of his life. His willingness to lend a hand extended far beyond his professional and church duties, as he was known for his readiness to assist anyone in need, embodying the true essence of selflessness.

A man of profound humility and warmth, Marty's infectious sense of humor and genuine compassion endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His 31-year marriage to Mary stood as a testament to their enduring love and partnership and they were blessed with four children: Tanner, Abby, Emma, and Hunter, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to his life.

Despite his valiant battle with cancer, Marty maintained a positive attitude and unwavering faith throughout his journey. He never complained or burdened others with his struggles. Instead, he remained uplifting and positive, inspiring everyone around him with his resilience and grace.

Marty leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and friendship that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to be touched by his presence. His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved family, friends, and community.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis & Remmie Humphries, Sr.; brothers, Curtis Humphries, Jr. (Helen) and Gerold Humphries and sister, Connie Nettles.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Lee Humphries; children Tanner, Abby, Emma & Hunter Humphries; siblings Rita Humphries, Marvin Humphries (Glenda), Craig Humphries (Ryan), Judy Grubbs (John), Debbie Dampier (Keith), Rusty Humphries (CeCe), Matthew Humphries (Rachel) and Mark Humphries (Kim); and countless other family members and friends.

There will be a visitation held on Sunday, August 11th at Daniels Funeral Home in Branford from 3:00-5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Church on Monday, August 12th at 11:00 am where loved ones will gather to celebrate Marty's life and legacy.
