Maureen "Mo" Wuerfel, quietly found her "Peace in the Valley" on June 23, 2026, after her journey with dementia.

Born in Flushing, New York, to John and Ida Nadotti, Mo grew up in a loving multi-generational home that helped shape the compassionate and selfless woman she would become.

At just 18 years old, she married John Wuerfel.  Together they eventually made their home in Naples, Florida, where they raised their four children.

Mo's love for children was evident throughout her career. She began by running a daycare before joining Golden Gate Middle School as an In-School Suspension Aide. She later became a school secretary, faithfully serving students, families, and staff for many years before transferring to Oakridge Middle School. Eventually, she was promoted to the Collier County Public Schools administrative office, where she served as an Administrative Assistant in the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Department until her retirement.

Mo was known for her unwavering kindness, generous heart, and quiet strength. She consistently put the needs of others before her own and never hesitated to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. Her gentle spirit, caring nature, and unconditional love touched countless lives, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will never be forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Nadotti, and her brother, John Matthew Nadotti.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: John (Gina) Wuerfel, Donna (Bellamy) Brooks, Karl Wuerfel, and Rian (Donny) Albritton; her many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love and devotion.

Honoring her wishes, Mo will be cremated. A portion of her ashes will be laid to rest beside her father in Naples, Florida, while the remaining ashes will be taken to New York to rest alongside her mother and brother. At this time, no services are planned.
