Nora Lou Barker, age 76, of O'Brien, Florida departed this life peacefully to be with the Lord on July 20th, 2023, after a courageous battle with Dementia. She was born on May 13th , 1947, in Ferrellsburg, West Virginia and is preceded in death by her parents Zola Fry and James Conway; her older brother Arnold Ray Adkins, and brother-in-law Clark Osborne. Nora was a devoted Christian, wonderful homemaker, and loving wife to her husband of 57 years, Rev. William K. Barker. She will be forever cherished and remembered by her children David and Donna (Charles); her grandchildren Kendall (Renae), Austin, and Mason (Madison); great-grandchildren Coven, Knox, Colbie, Caden, Maverick, and baby Layla due in September. She will be dearly missed by her sister Anita Osborne; niece Jacqueline Osborne-Paxton (Tim); a host of relatives and special friends. She loved animals, flowers, gospel music, cooking, fishing, boating, camping, puzzles, playing cards,
watching Buckeye football, and sitting on the front porch enjoying nature. She especially loved being a mother and grandmother and treasured her family and friends. Her smile could light up a room and she was loved by everyone that met her. A celebration of life will be held at 2PM on July 29th , 2023, at the Pinemount Baptist Church, 17031 US Highway 129 South, McAlpin, FL 32062. A second service is being planned for mid-August in Ohio for her family and life-long friends, details to follow. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make your donations to the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center, 6037 West US Highway 90, Lake City, FL 32055.
