Patricia Kennedy "Kate" Bassett, 88, Tallahassee, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2023. The Boston, MA, born native was the proud mother of six children, sixteen granchildren, and one great-grandchild. Kate attended St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Boston and later worked as an RN in Miami and Live Oak, primarily in the operating room.  She is survived by her daughters: Susan Giannini (Michael) and Lisa M. Bassett (Gena); sons: Jonathan Bassett (Patrick), Jeffrey Bassett (Michael), Timothy D. Bassett (Kyle), and Christopher J. Bassett (Julie).  Kate is also survived by her sisters Susan Stewart and Kathryn Kennedy and brothers:Robert, Ted, and Joe Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her husband: John Edward Bassett. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 3rd at Daniels Memorial Chapel with a visitation being held prior to the service at 1:00 pm. Interment will be held in Live Oak Cemetery. Kate was a practicing Catholic and will be blessed before her burial.  She will also be laid to rest as a bagpiper plays, in honor of her Scottish heritage.
