Rachael Lorraine Boyer, known affectionately as "Ma" to all those who knew and loved her, passed
on to her eternal home on Friday, April 15, 2022, at North Florida Regional Hospital following a brief
illness. She was 79 years old.
Rachael was born at her family home in North Carolina on November 30, 1942, to her mother Lucy
Mae Corey. Rachael lived a full life, having the opportunity to live and travel most of the United States
and see things most just dream about. Rachael drove dump trucks for EV Williams for 25 years and
was one of America's first female "truckers."
In 1967, Rachael met her spouse Franklin William Boyer on a blind date in Massachusetts and went
on to have three children, Franklin, Allison, and Samantha.
Rachael retired in 1999 when she moved to Florida and could be caught loving on her cats,
crocheting, reading, growing her cat figurine collection and focusing on her grandchildren, nieces,
nephews and eventually her great-grandchildren.
Rachael was predeceased by her mother, Lucy Mae Corey, and her husband, Franklin Boyer. She is
survived by her children Franklin Boyer, Allison (Christopher) Willman, Samantha (Edward) Bilodeau, and
Robin Jackson, who was from Rachael's first marriage, had eight (8) grandchildren, nine (9) great
grandchildren, her four (4) siblings Roger Corey, Cheryl Sweeney, Jack Corey, and Debra Corey-
Suprenant, and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
There will be no services held per the request of the deceased. The family would like to thank the crew
with Suwannee County EMS and all of the medical staff at North Florida Regional Hospital for all of their
hard work and taking great care of our loved ones during her last days with us.
Ma will be missed here on Earth, but will forever live on in our hearts. We know we will meet again
someday.
