Richard Edward Scott passed away on April 28th in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years: Joyce Lee Scott, and his children: Matt and Barbie Scott of Live Oak, Leah and Stuart Lane of Minneola and Katie and Ben Paladino of Columbus. He leaves seven grandchildren, Hannah and Myka Scott, Alyssa and Jacob Lane and Titus, Liliana and Augustus Paladino. He was born to Lucy and Benny Scott in Miami, Florida on February 19, 1945. In his youth, he was known for his knowledge and ability to restore old cars and his talents on the basketball court. After his marriage to Joyce in 1969, they moved to North Florida and had called Live Oak home for forty-one years. Always a proud part of the local community, he could be found most mornings at the Dixie Grill with family and then working at McCrimon's Office System's. His life was filled with family, friends, and travel with his children. Asked in the end what defined him, he would always say, "My children and the love they gave me and my faith."  Through many trials, triumphs, and teachings his constant was his love for his Heavenly Father and his faith in Jesus Christ to forgive and restore him. So Dad until we meet again on that glorious day of our Lord, we love you and will always take you with us. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 11th at Daniels Memorial Chapel.
