Richard C. Welch, a resident of O'Brien, FL for over 35 years, passed away on June 4, 2026. He was born on January 12, 1952, to the late S.Q. and Alma Lucille Olive Welch. Richard served as a Military Police officer in the US Army and later worked for Anderson Mining as a certified blaster with dynamite. He was a man of Baptist faith who enjoyed karaoke, playing guitar, singing, and saltwater fishing.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Welch; his daughter, Jessica (Lecosta) Byrd; his son, Scott (Ashley) Welch; his brother, Roy Welch; his grandchildren, Hannah, Adian, Lukas, Charlotte, Ciara, Lecosta, Jacoby, and Stormi; and his great-grandchildren, Asher and Peyton.

A visitation will be held from 10-11am on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at O'Brien Baptist Church in O'Brien, FL, with a service to follow at 11am. Interment will take place at O'Brien Cemetery.
