Rose Marie (Mount) Newell, 80 years old, went home to be with her Lord, on October 8th, 2022. Rose was born to Theodore Allen Mount and Grace Marion (Linico) Epling, in Jacksonville, Florida, on May 25th, 1942. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Grace, and her two sisters, Theodora Slack and Grace Mount.

Rose leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Thomas Newell, and her children: Julie Wilton, Bill (Cher) Newell, and Donna (Steve) Baker. She also leaves behind "40 plus" grand and great-grandchildren, as well as many dear friends. Rose lived most of her childhood in South Florida, then moved to Marathon, where she met and married, Tom, the love of her life at 17 years of age, and had 3 children.

Rose enjoyed life: painting, camping, boating, playing games, picking up sea shells, riding on motorcycles with Tom, going to church, helping the needy, and greatly enjoyed showing hospitality to all who passed through her door. It brought her great joy each time one of her children or grandchildren shared the news that a new little one was on the way. Towards the end of her earthly journey, no matter how terrible Rose was feeling, when a grandchild or great-grandchild video chatted or came through the door she lit up and found it in herself to smile, wave, and blow kisses as she would tell each of them how much she loves all her babies.

Everyone that knew Rose could tell you of her beautiful smile, giving heart, delicious food, and hospitality.

As Rose grew closer to Jesus she was given the honor, with her husband, to work with two youth groups in the Florida Keys, where they lived many years before moving to Live Oak, Florida. They also hosted weekly home meetings with Tom playing his guitar as they led others in worshipping our Lord and teaching from the Word. Rose's life impacted many people. As the word of her departing has spread, we have had many express their sadness for our loss and their gratitude for Rose's impact on their lives. (Thank you) We can only direct that praise to Jesus.

Rose has always been an example for women to follow in loving and honoring her husband well, loving her children, always making sure they had food to eat, and clothes to wear, even sewing outfits herself, working willingly with her hands, looking well to the ways of her household......" a virtuous woman." As her relationship with the Lord grew, these attributes only sweetened, brought glory to her Savior, and left behind a godly example for us to imitate.

Her own works will praise her in the gates!

A memorial service will be held, on November 26th, 2022, at 1 pm, two days after Thanksgiving, her favorite time of year at:Heritage Church
