Ruth R. Childress, 101, of Live Oak, FL, passed away on October 1, 2026. Born in Cleveland, OH, on December 31, 1924, Ruth dedicated her career to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in Live Oak and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Brady (Terryl) of Live Oak; four grandchildren, Jenny Lackey, Jake Brady, Janet Brady, and JoAnn Brady, all from Live Oak; and five great-grandchildren, Paul Lackey, Morgan Lackey, Jed Brady, Henry Brady, and Fletcher Brady. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Childress and her brother: Robert "Bill" Childress, III. 

Visitation will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6th, at Daniels Memorial Chapel, with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a church of your choice or First Responders.
