Samuel Harvey Buchanan, Sr., 74, of Branford, FL passed away at his home on Monday, August 5, 2024. Harvey was born in Live Oak and spent most of his life in the Branford area. He served in the Florida National Guard and was a longtime member of the Branford Masonic Lodge. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting or fishing and enjoyed his time as a timber farmer. He was also a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. Harvey is survived by his former wife: Gail Buchanan; sisters: Karan Horner; Shirley Williams; brother: William Buchanan (Edye); son: Samuel Harvey Buchanan, Jr. (Kim); daughter: Sharon Lynn Barnett and family; grandchildren: Matthew Buchanan, Corey Kendrick, Asia Dasher; great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Ava, Alyssa, Adalyn. There will be a visitation for friends and family on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 5-7pm at Daniels Funeral Home, Branford, FL. In keeping with his wishes there will be a brief graveside service on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 3pm at Maypop Cemetery.
