Sandra L. Barrett, 61, McAlpin, FL passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Mrs. Barrett was born in Winter Haven, FL, moved to McAlpin in 2004 from Auburndale, FL, and was a member of Live Oak Church of God. She worked as a Sergeant for the Polk County Corrections for nineteen years and worked as a secretary for Lighthouse Christian Academy in Mayo, FL for seven years. Mrs. Barrett is survived by her husband of forty-four years: James L. Barrett, Sr., McAlpin, FL; one daughter: Heather Szortyka (Kevin), Tallahassee, FL; two sons: James L. "Jimmy" Barrett, Jr. (Samantha), McAlpin, FL, Colin Barrett, Washington; one sister: Joy Landen (Bart), McAlpin, FL; nine grandchildren: Ashley, Zoie, Marcie, Beir, Aubrey, Phoenix, Wesley, Faith, Meaghan; three great-grandchildren: Mia, Brady, and Saylor. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 28th at Live Oak Church of God with Pastor Wes Tanksley officiating and a visitation held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.  Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
