Sharon Lee Walker Croxton age 85 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 11, 2024. She leaves behind her devoted husband Gary Croxton, who was also her caregiver after she suffered a massive stroke many years ago. She also leaves two daughters, Kimberly (Timothy) Nall, Ellie (Jerry) Coker; One son, Gary (Celia) Croxton; Four grandchildren who she adored: Kristen (Levi) Goldsmith, Joshua Nall, Casidy Coker, Caden Coker; Six Great-Grand Children: Braden Goldsmith, Kage Goldsmith, Chase Goldsmith, Isabelle Goldsmith, Ethan Nall, and Abigail Nall.

Sharon was born in Winter Haven, Florida to parents Barney and Susie Walker.  She had one brother: Durwood "Woody" (Jody) Walker of Sun City, FL. One sister: Nora Ann (Rev. Rick) Williams of Brunswick, GA. She also leaves nieces and nephews that were very special to her, and she loved.

Her priority in life was her Christian Walk and her family. She took great delight in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She had been very active with her church in Auburndale, FL, Berea Baptist Church, and immediately after moving to Branford she united with First Baptist Branford where she was a member for about 34 years. She taught Sunday school for many years and loved the children and youth that she was involved with. She also served in other ministries and areas of her church. Later she united with Hatch Bend Baptist where she served until, she went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She retired from the State of Florida Department of Corrections as a Purchasing Specialist working her way up through several other positions. She began her career as a Statistical Typist with the Florida Citrus Exchange in Tampa, FL upon graduation from Hillsborough High school, she received promotions and job changes remaining there until God blessed her with children. She was then a stay-at-home mother until her family moved from the Lakeland/Auburndale, FL area to Branford in 1981. Shortly after their move to Branford she renewed her career, working for a short time at the Variety Drug Store, then several years for Dr. B.M Samera. In 1985 she went to work at Mayo Correctional Institution as a secretary, working hard she also moved up for another promotion she transferred to Florida Department of Transportation for several years. In 1994 she returned to the Department of Corrections before retiring in December of 2001.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Mrs. Sharon's life at Hatchbend Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, with visitation at 1:00 pm and service starting at 2:00pm. Graveside service immediately following. In Lieu of flowers, family wish for you to please make donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
